Nú er komið að nýbylgjucountry en þannig var tónlist Cowboy Junkies skilgreind af þeim í viðtali fyrir margt löngu. Ekki verri skilgreining en hver önnur. Platan The Trinity Session var tekin upp í Trinity kirkjunni í Toronto 27.nóv 1986. Af þessari plötu er Lagið Sweet Jane tilnefnt. Lou Reed lét reyndar hafa eftir sér fyrir margt löngu að flutningur Cowboy Junkies á þessu lagi væri sá besti sem hann hefði heyrt.
