Och jorden snurrade öde och töm
Och allt var tyst över haven
Då hördes en röst ifrån ovan
Och det vart ljus den första dagen

Och rösten sade frambringen frukt
Och må de hava sitt frå på jorden
Och inga brott var ånnu begögna
Den andra dagen kom till norden

Och till sin avbild gjorde rösten en man
Och en kvinna att elska varann
Och dom blev kungar på jordklotets rund
Det var den tredje dagens rand

Så vem skall be for Babylon
Sjung en psalm for Babylon
Fall på knæ for Babylon
Slå på trumman for Babylon
Faller

Man och kvinna lærde sej eld
Och byggde riken och murar
Den fjærde dagen var murarna så långa
Att ingen visste var dom slutade

Och ingen hörde ej længre nögon röst
Hör våxte stæder mot skyarna
Den femte dagen då væren blev höst
Fåll det ett regn över månskobyarna

Och inga murar kan stoppa ett regn
Som faller år efter år
Den sjætte dagen har en röst mig berættat
Var jorden som ett öppet sår

Man and woman learn to make fire
And kingdoms and walls were extended
The fourth day the walls were reaching so far
No-one knew how to end them

And no one heard the voice anymore
Metal-cities rose and ascend
The fifth day sprinted in to fall
And a rain fell over the land

There are no walls to stop such a rain
That keeps falling forever more
I was told by a voice the sixth day
The globe was like an open soar

On their knees the people of Babylon
